Position Overview

Our team is currently looking for a Controls Systems/Automation Engineer for one of our clients in the Industrial Gas industry.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Develop control strategies and automation solutions for manufacturing and production systems using PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Implement instrumentation and data acquisition systems to monitor process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level.
• Design and implement HMI screens and user interfaces for operator interaction and data visualization.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot
• Develop and maintain control logic, ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text programming.
• Integrate industrial communication protocols
• Design data acquisition systems to capture process data and generate performance reports.
• Implement data collection systems and interfaces with historians, MES, and ERP systems.
• Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Specify, install, and calibrate sensors, transmitters, controllers, and other instrumentation devices.
• Ensure accurate data collection and signal processing in compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement safety logic and interlock systems to prevent equipment and process failures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISA, IEC, and OSHA regulations.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Develop documentation, user manuals, and training materials for control systems and instrumentation.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation, or instrumentation.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
• Strong analytical skills in data acquisition and signal processing.
• Experience with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
