Job Description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking Spanish Teachers for the 2025-2026 academic year at private and independent schools in Los Angeles, CA.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach several Spanish courses across multiple proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.
  • Develop lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
  • Provide conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
  • Monitoring student's progress by writing up reports and grading assessments.
  • Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
  • Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
  • Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
  • Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
  • Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
  • Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.

Spanish Teacher Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Latin American studies or an equivalent required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
  • 2-5 years of previous teaching experience.
  • No teaching license or credential is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.

Additional Desired Qualities:

  • Willingness to work with middle/high school students.
  • Passion for foreign language education.
  • Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
  • Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
